Weekend in BKK and goodbye NP!

 05.25.2012

Shortly after we resettled in Nakhon Pathom we discovered, much to our chagrin, that we couldn't work there anymore.  Not sure that we have the fully story on this one or that we ever will.  Our agency might have lost the contract with PSC to another agency that basically outbid them.  I'm pretty sure some kind of incompetence was involved and there is, of course, the whole "it's Thailand and therefore certain things just work out the silly way they do" answer which seems to go well with anything that isn't explained properly.  Mai pen rai.

Saddened with the loss of our school and burdened with having to find a new one, we decided to take a fun trip to Bangkok for the weekend to get our minds off things.

In BKK

More critters!  Hazing ritual for new teachers.

Crunchy frog!

Back in NP!

Beginning of the rainy season.

The aftermath of getting caught across town in a giant thunderstorm on your moped in traffic.  We were practically swimming!

A night of karaoke with Laura and Kathleen to say goodbye.  I wouldn't call my voice a good parting gift, but most people sing terribly in Thailand anyway.

Putting our scooters in the post.

Pouring with rain... yet again.

Our last meal at Pink Chair.

Moo krab kai dow - my favorite Pink Chair grub.

The magic-workers

The lady in pink cried when we told them we were moving!  It was so sweet.

Last meal with friends.

Packing up and heading out.  Farewell Nakhon Pathom!

Picture with the landlord's daughter in the internet cafe downstairs.

The apartment is empty once again!
