More Lopburi and nightlife

10.19.2011

Day before yesterday we did visited a museum/old Thai palace.  More ruins were involved.

This palace belonged to King Narai of the 1600's who conducted a lot of trade and agreements with other countries, esp. the French.

No one is guarding any of this stuff, and no one trashes it.  I feel like this would never happen in the states.

This was inside a the remnants of the elephant stables

Then we headed back to town.

So many monkeys (ling).  I try to avoid this part of town now - walking down this street is like running the Ling Gauntlet!

Fresh Thai donuts were SO good.

NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Our favorite hangout in town has become this little cafe.  It is the downstairs room in a children's art school.

Apple smoothie!

Brandon's omelet sandwich

He runs the cafe, speaks a little bit of English and is very friendly :D

Scooters. Are. Everywhere.

A ling eyes Brandon's donut he's carrying in a bag and makes a leap for it.... Better luck next time, Lingy!

Back of the minibus is the best!
Matt

Yep, I got another pair of jelly flippies, and the speeding asphalt is only mere inches beneath our feet!

People love to wave and say hello when they see a Falang!
Babies are often on scooters, sometimes the whole family manage to fit on one!

This has been our breakfast stop the past few days
Pieter and Santipot take us out on the town to a nightclub called "The Bank"
Fashion show of a dress I got at the night market!
If you're going to come out of the closet, Thailand is a great place to do it.

Ok Mom, here's an example of a Thai toilet.  You put your feet on the sides and squat.  Takes a little more coordination, but it's really not a bad way to pee.

Thai whiskey.  Never again.

Apparently all Thai nightclubs have dancing girls... that's just how Thai's roll.

David, Me, Elizabeth, Matt

This was like a Thai ska/alternative band and they were really good!

We were dancing up front and the band noticed us Falang.  They got really excited and pointed us out to the rest of the crowd!

My first picture with a Thai ladyboy!
