PSC English Dept. dinner

12.01.2011

Last Thursday after classes we took our first visit to the ice cream stand at school.  Ice cream between periods is now a constant temptation, and for 10 Baht a pop, you really can't go wrong.

Ice cream is served in a cup, cone, or on a piece of bread (like an ice cream open-faced sandwich?)  Strange, but still ice cream... and therefore, still delicious.

More boring shots of the English department office.

Kids taking a pronunciation test with Toon.

Don't be frightened, it's just the bottom half of Brandon's face!  Still a shock sometimes.

Muay is an absolute pleasure to share office space with.

Daniel from South Africa

Later that evening, we joined the rest of the English department of Princess Sirindhorn's College for quite the feast.  We went to a Thai barbeque buffet called "The Goldfish" (in Thai) where you could eat a variety of already-prepared food or cook your own!  We had been to a restaurant similar to this back in Lopburi, but this one had such a plethora of appetizing options that it was pretty epic.

So much food, so little time!

Grilling and boiling options all in the same contraption!

The student teachers tried to be civilized at first, but throughout the evening they got really silly and started calling each other names like "pimples" and "hemorrhoids" in Thai.  We certainly learned a few more Thai words that evening.

Sai and Erk

Teacher Grace announced her plans to get married in two weeks to the rest of the staff!

The happy couple.

Here's that desert that I love again: sweet coconut milk with jelly bits in it, ice and bread.
Brandon looks so young in pictures!

I'd hate to be the chump to clean these.
Lots and lots of picture-taking.  My kind of people.

The one on the right is Fon.  She is 17 and has studied abroad in the US.  Her English is amazing!

Toon trying to get his scooter out of a tight spot.  Let's just say that parking is not so regulated here.
